Just a question, will the re-launch mean that map and/or inventories are reset? Just curious, personally a total reset wouldn't bother me... much (I'd miss my stacks of diamonds though qq).

the old Theonia will be available for a month to 3 months or so so you will be able to bring all your resources to the new map reason im switching maps in case anyone is wondering is simply because most of the people who used to play have vanished so i didn't want former towns scattered around and people thinking no one plays the server (which is true currently but will change hopefully >.>)


BTW I am in the middle of moving still so ill begin work soon were hoping to have everything out of the house today/tomorrow.

would anyone care if i had a intro map and no starting town? like you spawn in a building in some floating island somewhere where you can find all of the starting info etc. and you jump off or go through a portal to enter the actual world that way i can make the nooby area above ground and make it pretty without having a big blemish on the actual map.

would be really nice is mcedit would work >.>

Did a bunch of work this morning

fixed sponges added a donator permissions group that gives them the ability to change the time of day and weather every 15 minuets as well as summon and port to other players every few minuets if the player accepts as well as the ability to teleport themselves to other worlds rather then going to the community portal area. So im trying to keep it a convenience thing and nothing to overpowered.

I also added a warmup to /spawn of 10 seconds to prevent abuse (/spawn to save you from a creeper or lava etc.) as well as reinforced the 24 hour cooldown on the sponges you will no longer be able to get a sponge if the server crashes. I Will also be adding a archer kit for free arrows the other classes do not have restrictions like this it wont make arrows worthless but it will make archers feel a little less ripped off (currently thinking 1 to 2 stacks per hour or something like that not much but it helps)

I cleaned up permissions so they are ready to go. Note: you will all be able to use every type of food etc. no item restrictions beyond that of your class (Which reminds me i need to update the classes toolkit to allow the use of tools.)

Hmm what else did I do today ....

Think that's about it for now. gonna take a break have some lunch at some point and work on it later this afternoon.

Making a starter town separated from the real world sounds good to me.
About the archer kit, I'm assuming it will just reset every hour and not stack over time when you're offline (basically like the sponge kit works now).

A second thought about the starter town.
Since there will still be a need for a safe place to teleport new players when they leave the start town perhaps this place could be a community build like in the previous version of Theonia. Instead of giving raw coin (which could affect the economy) I suggest giving other benefits. For example a build suited for one person to complete might give him 25% reduction on the materials/coin needed to get the next level. A larger build that could involve several people might only be available to towns and give a 25% reduction on town upgrade cost. For the building people should have to use their own material (so no admin spawning mats) this will make it more of a commitment to build things, not just placing blocks, and keep all of the "real" world a legit build.
A problem with this idea is defining the least amount of effort required to complete a task. For example if you ask someone to build a restaurant will a cobblestone box with a table in the center suffice? If not how do you define what is acceptable without micromanaging the build? I don't really have an answer to this problem, which is why I'm presenting it as a "thought" and not a finished concept.

its a good idea I like it im not entirely sure the cheaper cost of levels or town levels will give enough incentive but perhaps

and yes the arrows will act just like sponges

just a heads up when i update the server the shop in current Theonia will be down and will not be up again until a shop is made in the new world keep that in mind please.

I may adjust what is bought or sold now that everyone can farm and mine but there will be a shop of some kind yes if thats what you mean anyways.
